It's like being ambisinister

- I have taken up rock climbing. Mostly outdoor, so far.
- Long weekend this weekend. I am going camping with the lovely and charming Paul at Parc National de la Yamaska.
- Next week I start a shiny new job, doing webby front-endy stuff for some peeps who do climate-changey, carbon footprinty stuff.
- I've had about 8 months of vacation since January 2008. w00t?

I got laid off today.

Which is quite problematic, in that my existing work permit expires in five weeks; and I need to have a job in order to get a new work permit (which is a several week process). So, uh, looks like I have a couple of weeks to find a new job; or I'll be heading.. somewhere else.

Ski conditions on my balcony are currently great*. Probably about 6" of fresh powder.


*for a hamster.

It's snowy like a snowy thing outside; but curiously I'm wearing about the same amount of clothing here as I tended to during winter in Wellington. Where there is no snow.

This really is a much more acceptable form of winter, even though the temperature is through the proverbial floor.

And I still haven't had wet feet this winter.

The snow on my balcony now comes up to my bum.

In conclusion, it is currently -20C. But feels like -30C. I am still coming to grips with this. If someone finds my frozen corpse later today, please send it home or something.

However, she hasn't been living with David for the past month.

Can someones in Wellington give him a hand to try and catch her?

I'm pretty fucking angry that she still hasn't been moved; but obviously I can't very well pick her up myself.
