- I have taken up rock climbing. Mostly outdoor, so far.
- Long weekend this weekend. I am going camping with the lovely and charming Paul at Parc National de la Yamaska.
- Next week I start a shiny new job, doing webby front-endy stuff for some peeps who do climate-changey, carbon footprinty stuff.
- I've had about 8 months of vacation since January 2008. w00t?

I got laid off today.

Which is quite problematic, in that my existing work permit expires in five weeks; and I need to have a job in order to get a new work permit (which is a several week process). So, uh, looks like I have a couple of weeks to find a new job; or I'll be heading.. somewhere else.

It's snowy like a snowy thing outside; but curiously I'm wearing about the same amount of clothing here as I tended to during winter in Wellington. Where there is no snow.

This really is a much more acceptable form of winter, even though the temperature is through the proverbial floor.

And I still haven't had wet feet this winter.

However, she hasn't been living with David for the past month.

I've moved into a permanent place, now. Yay. I haven't had one of those in months.

There is a kitchen. It has plenty of power points. And all of the cupboards in the world. At the moment, there is a singular cupboard with food in it. The tall cupboard, which screams pantry, is currently playing the role of armoire. There's another filled with tech and music gear. Another is a bookshelf. There's a bathroom behind the kitchen; and the biggest wardrobe I've ever had is on the right (it even has a light. Nice. Now all I need to do is get some coat hangers so I can store clothes in it usefully.)

There is also a wide open plain of space. I have lots of space. It's a little weird. I think it's around about 5-600 square feet all together. At the moment, the extent of my furniture is a freestanding hammock.

A freestanding hammock is pretty comfortable for sleeping on.

And this was sunset last night, along with the view from my skylight.

I have a skylight! Because I'm on the top floor (heh. My mailbox is labeled PH1, for penthouse 1). This does also mean I have to walk up the most stairs to get to my place.

Aaaand, from my balcony, I can see a really big tree. It's pretty nice to be so central but not buildinged in.
